U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Monica Vela, a Motor Vehicle Operator with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, Combat Logistics Battalion 31, fire a M240B machine gun during a live-fire exercise at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Nov. 8, 2024. During the training, Marines with CLB-31 fired several thousand rounds to increase and maintain proficiency with medium and heavy machine guns. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
