Lance Cpl. Matthew L. Lopez, supply clerk, Battalion Landing Team 3/5, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit, practices assembling a M249 Squad Automatic Weapon during a weapons class, Feb. 10. The classes were given as part of the 15th MEU's sustainment training conducted in Djibouti, designed to increase unit cohesion, practice the fundamentals of their trades and take advantage of a unique opportunity to train in a foreign country. The 15th MEU is deployed as part of the Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group as a U.S. Central Command theater reserve force, providing support for maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
