A U.S. Army forward observer with 25th Infantry Division marks a map of Marine Corps Base Hawaii during a simulated close air support exercise, MCBH, Nov. 20, 2024. 3d LCT fire support teams, joint terminal attack controllers, and forward air controllers executed dry close air support with civilian contracted fixed-wing aircraft and Boeing AH-64 Apaches in support of training and readiness standards for Marine Corps air controllers. The fire support teams, who worked in conjunction with Army forward observers from 25th Infantry Division, ran battle drills and addressed scenarios in order to refine joint and internal techniques and procedures for directing surface-to-surface and air-to-surface fires.
