RSMs who have exited active service can be assigned to a battalion or the regiment by their Recovery Care Coordinator as part of their Recovery Care Plan, and they can participate in adaptive sporting events such as Marine Corps Trials and Warrior Care Weeks. The Warrior Care Program hosts a variety of activities that are intended to provide wounded, ill, and injured service members with the mental and physical tools to support their journey to recovery.
