241112-N-UF626-1277 SOUDA BAY, GREECE (Nov. 12, 2024) – Eddie Fears, a customs inspector with the U.S. Customs Agency inspects a vehicle during an agricultural washdown (AGWASH) in Souda Bay, Greece, Nov. 12, 2024. An AGWASH is conducted to prevent environmental contaminants from being brought back to the U.S. after an overseas deployment. New York is conducting operations in the U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa (NAVEUR-NAVAF) area of operations as part of the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSP ARG)- 24th MEU (SOC). The WSPARG-24th MEU (SOC) is on a scheduled deployment to the NAVEUR-NAVAF area of operations, supporting U.S., Allied and partner interests in the region, including the Eastern Mediterranean Sea, to continue promoting regional stability and deterring aggression.
