U.S. service members participate in a discussion about peace and security with members from the Djiboutian Coast Guard and Navy, as well as Spanish, Italian, Japanese, and French forces during Sea Sisters, at Camp Doraleh, Djibouti, Nov. 6, 2024. Sea Sisters, facilitated by Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) and U.S. Navy Maritime Expeditionary Security Squadron One (MSRON), spanned three days and included sessions on maritime survival tactics, medical care, and relationship-building. WPS was established by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1325 in 2000, WPS emphasizes the critical role of women in peace and security efforts and calls for the protection of women and girls in conflict zones.
