Maj. Jaclyn Haffer poses with her family after her promotion ceremony Nov. 25 at the Illinois Military Academy on Camp Lincoln in Springfield. After graduating from Springfield High School in 2001, Haffer enlisted in the Illinois Army National Guard in August 2002. In 2004, she landed her first job as a federal technician in the Property Book Office. Shortly thereafter, she transitioned to AGR status as an E4 with the 3637th Maintenance Company.
