Mark Jones, Director of NATO policy, and Col. Scott Porter, Country Director for Poland, Germany, Austria and Switzerland at the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Policy, met with leadership from the 2nd Battalion, 12th Regiment, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at the Bemowo Piskie Training Area (BPTA) in Poland on December 7, 2024. Discussions focused on force integration, NATO regional planning, and enhancing operational readiness and interoperability among our NATO allies. The 1st Cavalry Division’s mission is to engage in multinational training and exercises across the continent, while strengthening partnerships with our NATO allies and regional security partners.This provides competent and ready forces to V Corps, America’s forward-deployed corps in Europe.
