Soldiers assigned to the 593rd Expeditionary Sustainment Command visited Thompson Elementary School fifth-grade students during recess and lunch, December 5, 2024, in Tacoma, Washington. The 593d ESC was previously aligned with Thompson Elementary School through the Joint Base Lewis-McChord Community Connector program, which creates opportunities for the Rest Assured team to focus on all aspects of service, on and off the installation. Thompson administrators communicated a need for strong role models at the school, specifically among the older student population. The Rest Assured team's visits to the school aim to create a consistent mentorship presence and make a difference by engaging directly with students on a regular basis.
