KITTERY, Maine, (Sep. 14, 2024): Portsmouth Naval Shipyard (PNSY) hosted a family day for employees, tenant commands, and their families. Family day was an opportunity to show off the 224 years of history at the shipyard and to showcase what it means to be part of the Navy’s center of excellence for attack submarine overhaul, repair, and modernization. Visitors were afforded the opportunity to walk through production work spaces, see a submarine in dry dock, signal a crane, utilize virtual reality simulators, see trades demonstrations, and learn about the many careers at PNSY. Pictured seated, William "Bill" Tebo, a docent at the shipyard museum talks to visitors. (U.S. Navy photo by /released)
