U.S. Air Force Airmen with the 308th Rescue Squadron climb a ladder into an HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopter assigned to the 943d Rescue Group during a simulated rescue operation as part of Exercise Distant Fury Stallion/Steel Knight off the coast of California, Dec. 9, 2024. Steel Knight is an annual exercise that takes place in multiple locations across the Southwest that allows I Marine Expeditionary Force to train as a full Marine Air-Ground Task Force and better integrate with joint and naval forces. This joint exercise with the Marine Corps and Navy provides an opportunity to validate the 920th Rescue Wing's interoperability in remote, austere conditions such as the Indo-Pacific region.
