U.S. Marine Corps Private First Class, Matthew Cardona, a motor vehicle operator with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, sets security during a combat support service area exercise at Kin Blue Beach Training Area, Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 9, 2024. Marines with the 31st MEU participated in an exercise to enhance interoperability and strengthen ship-to-shore capabilities. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
