Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Energy, Installations, and Environment and Chief Sustainability Officer, the Honorable Meredith Berger, is taught about the habitat of bees in a beekeeper’s hive by Stanislav Abdullin, owner of HI Honey Farm, during a visit to HI Honey Farm in Waialua, Hawaii. An estimated 500,000 bees from the Kupono Solar Project at the West Loch Annex on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam were relocated to HI Honey Farm in 2023 to preserve the honeybee population and wildlife habitat and protect the environment.
