A U.S. Marine Corps AH-1Z Viper assigned to Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Rein.) lands to refuel during a forward arming and refueling point exercise at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 10, 2024. The Marines with Battalion Landing Team 2/4, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, provided local security for a FARP in order to protect key logistics site which is crucial in distributed operations. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
