U.S. Army Spc. Carter Hanson, a military working dog handler assigned to the 901st Military Police Detachment, and his military working dog, T-Rex, conducted a controlled drug and explosives detection exercise on several vehicles during Yama Sakura 87 at Sagami General Depot, Japan, Dec. 9, 2024. Regularly training military working dogs for explosive hazard detection in different environments is key to prepare them for explosive detection, as repeated training in similar environments may train them to only search for specific stimuli.
