    YORKTOWN, Va. (December 14, 2024) Captain Dan Patrick, Commanding Officer, Naval Weapons Station Yorktown speaks to descendants of Sergeant Major Edward Radcliffe during a wreath laying event onboard the installation. Radcliffe earned the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of New Market Heights in September 1864. He was one of the few African Americans to receive this honor. Radcliffe was buried onboard the installation after his death in March 1915. (U.S. Navy Photo by Max Lonzanida/Released).
