YORKTOWN, Va. (December 14, 2024) Lieutenant Damon Radcliffe, a Sheriff's Deputy with the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office, joins other living descendants of Sergeant Major Edward Radcliffe during a wreath laying event onboard the installation. Radcliffe earned the Congressional Medal of Honor for his actions during the Battle of New Market Heights in September 1864. He was one of the few African Americans to receive this honor.
