Recently, Soldiers from Blanchfield Army Community Hospital's Education & Staff Development section conducted Delayed Evacuation Casualty Management (DECM) training for Combat Medics of the 3rd Brigade Combat Team (Air Assault). This crucial training prepares medics to sustain and care for casualties in situations with minimal or no medical support, extending care well beyond the standard 20-minute evacuation window. By equipping medics with these skills, DECM training plays a vital role in preventing fatalities and enhancing the survivability of Soldiers in remote or austere environments.
