U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Dylan Bailey goes over the basics of how to shoot an azimuth with Spc Nathan Morse, both assigned to the 7th Mobile Public Affairs Detachment, before they begin the land navigation course at Training Area 73 on Fort Cavazos, Texas, Dec. 18, 2024, as part of a detachment land navigation exercise. Land navigation is important in the army because it increases Soldier readiness so troops will be able to quickly plot their position on a map and navigate to another known location regardless of where they are deployed.
