ATLANTIC OCEAN (Oct. 30, 2024) – Sailors operate the helm console in the control room during diving operations aboard the Virginia-class fast-attack submarine USS New Jersey (SSN 796). Fast-attack submarines are multi-mission platforms enabling five of the six Navy maritime strategy core capabilities – sea control, power projection, forward presence, maritime security and deterrence.
