U.S. Marines with Battalion Landing Team 2/4, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, and U.S. Navy
Corpsmen with Combat Logistics Battalion 31, 31st MEU, provide medical care to an evacuee during
noncombatant evacuation operation training at Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan on Dec. 18-19, 2024. A NEO
is the evacuation of civilians and nonessential military personnel from danger in an overseas country to a
designated safe haven. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU,
provides a flexible and lethal force, ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premiere
