U.S. Marine Corps recruits conduct the table one course of fire in relays, switching from the individuals who were up at the yard lines to the individuals who were pulling down the targets at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Dec. 16, 2024. The table one course of fire is designed to introduce recruits to the basic fundamentals of marksmanship and rifle safety. Marines are warfighters first, and always. Every Marine is a rifleman, and Marine officer is a rifle platoon commander. This unique characteristic distinguishes Marines from all Services, at home and abroad. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
