U.S. Marine Corps Drill Master Staff Sgt. Jake Landis, with 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, Recruit Training Regiment, left, speaks to the new Marines of Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, prior toward the motivational run at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, California, Dec. 19, 2024. The company motivational run is a three-mile cadence run conducted around the Depot and is the last physical training event the Marines will conduct before they graduate from MCRD San Diego. The event is also the first time friends and families will see their newly transformed Marines. The same fighting spirit that led Marines in the fight at Chapultepec, Belleau Wood, Iwo Jima, Okinawa, the Chosin Reservoir, Vietnam, in Fallujah and Marjah thrives in our Marines today.
