The U.S. Army Materiel Support Command - Korea's Busan Storage Center (BSC) employees, alongside members of Busan’s Republic of Korea partnership alliance—the Busan Metro Police Foreign Affairs Office and the 126th Infantry Brigade, Republic of Korea Army (ROKA)—were recognized by the 19th ESC Commanding General, Brig. Gen. Jin H. Pak, and MSC-K Commander, Col. Brian T. Donahue, for their crucial roles in responding to the fire incident that happened on Oct. 24.

The Awardees received General Officer Star Notes and Commander Certificates of Achievement at the BSC last week.

Brig. Gen. Pak emphasized the unwavering partnership among the BSC team, local police and fire departments, and the ROKA Regional Defense Division in the note.

He also highlighted how their prompt response, interoperability efforts, and seamless cooperation demonstrated and solidified this partnership between the U.S. and Korean partners. Because of their swift response, it led to the fire being contained, which prevented the fire from spreading and causing more damage.

Engaging with local communities helps bridge the gap between military personnel and civilians, fostering mutual trust and understanding. The lessons learned and partnership that culminated from this incident is what continues to strengthen this ironclad alliance.

“The commitment to excellence displayed by all involved is highly appreciated and sets a standard for others to follow ,” said Pak.
