U.S. Air Force 1st Lt. Jacob Geil, a flight test engineer assigned to the 59th Test and Evaluation Squadron, Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, installs an Operational Test and Training Exterior Recording Camera (OTTER Cam) he designed for the A-10 Thunderbolt II on Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, Jan. 12, 2024. Existing cameras would cost around $1M and take up to a year to manufacture. Lieutenant Geil’s mount cost less than $700, saving the Air Force a significant amount of money.
