U.S. Army Soldiers assigned to 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, raise their respective unit guidons in the air during Field Day activities as part of the final day of Torch Week held at Fort Bliss, Texas, Nov. 7, 2024. The 1st Armored Division's Torch Week is an annual event commemorating the division's role in the World War II invasion of North Africa in 1942, known as 'Operation Torch.' Torch Week is also held to celebrate the division's storied history and honor the everlasting legacy of Iron Soldiers through various military, sporting, and morale-boosting events, which promote camaraderie and cohesion throughout the organization.
