United States Marine Corps (Ret.) MGySgt. Carlton Edward “Chuck” LeDrew, a native of Quebec City, Montreal, Canada, stands in his study before a wall of his life and times in the military. At 12-years-old, LeDrew found himself helping a reserve artillery unit as a cadet before enlisting with the Canadian Army as a boy soldier in 1954. He would serve two more years in the airborne Canadian paratroopers before transferring over to the Black Watch (Royal Highlander Regiment) of Canada. After retiring from the Black Watch, LeDrew would enlist in the Corps at the age of 24 and ship off to Marine Corps Recruit Depot in Parris Island, S.C., in 1st Battalion, Platoon 135 in 1961.
