Contractors work at Bee Tree Reservoir in Swannanoa, North Carolina Jan. 09, 2025, in preparation of incoming storms. The contractor began erecting shelters above the Dissolved Air Flotation devices. These shelters will help provide heat and protection from snow in the anticipated weather events.
The project at this reservoir is to construct temporary turbidity/manganese reduction pre-treatment systems aimed at ensuring potable water treatment for affected communities.
The Corps of Engineers is working in partnership with local, state and federal agencies, to include the Federal Emergency Management Agency, in response to the damage from Hurricane Helen. (U.S. Army photo by Stacey Reese/released)
