Cadets at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point eat their meals in the 68,000 square-foot Washington Hall. It is big enough to feed the entire Corps, over 4,400 strong. They sit at twelve-person tables and are served their meals family style. The mess hall is decorated with military and historic artifacts from the country’s past, along with portraits of the former superintendents, flags from all 50 states as well as the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico and various historical flags consisting of variations of the evolution of the U.S. Flag. There is also a 2,450 square foot mural on the wall depicting the history of weapons of war used in twenty of the most decisive battles through American history.
