U.S. Soldiers march alongside former National People's Army of the German Democratic Republic (also known as East Germany) service members, during the 80th anniversary of the Long March in Bad Muskau, Germany, Jan. 26, 2025. The Long March is a commemorative ruck march held annually since 2005, where service members and relatives volunteer to retrace the 60-mile journey allied aviation World War II prisoners of war embarked on 80 years ago.
