U.S. Air Force Senior Master Sgt. Thomas Evenson of the 125th Mission Support Group is named 12th Fighter Wing 2024 Outstanding Airman of the Year in the senior noncommissioned officer category during an awards ceremony at the 125th Fighter Wing in Jacksonville, Florida, Jan. 31, 2025. Each year, Airmen from the 125th Fighter Wing are recognized in five categories to include Airman, Noncommissioned Officer, Senior Noncommissioned Officer, First Sergeant, and Company Grade Officer. The Outstanding Airman of the Year winner in each category will go on to compete with Airmen in the state of Florida. If they are selected at the state level, they have the opportunity of competing with other state guard units, and lastly, Airmen from every component of the Air Force.
