56th Chief of Engineers and Commanding General of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Lt. Gen. William H. "Butch" Graham, visited North Carolina Feb. 1, 2025, where he met with USACE team members, FEMA team members, state emergency management officials, and AshBritt personnel to discuss progress in the Hurricane Helene recovery mission.
Graham visited the Beacon Temporary Debris and Reduction Site in Swannanoa, Bee Tree Reservoir and Azalea Park, where waterway debris collection efforts are underway in Buncombe County.
The Corps of Engineers is working in partnership with local, state and federal agencies, to include the Federal Emergency Management Agency, in response to the damage from Hurricane Helene. (U.S. Army photo by Stacey Reese/released)
