Marines execute Military Operations on Urban Terrain training with Special Effects Small Arms Marking System rounds March 12 in NCTS abandoned housing units during Exercise Guahan Shield. MOUT training with SESAMS rounds is intended to increase unit readiness and cohesion during urban engagements. Guahan Shield is an exercise designed to set up multiservice engagements, conditions for training opportunities involving two or more parties, as well as support rapid response to potential crises and military operations in the Asia-Pacific region.
