NORFOLK (February 4, 2025) Mass Communication Specialist 1st Class Ryan Seelbach, from Columbus, Ohio, an assessor assigned to Afloat Training Group (ATG) Norfolk, instructs Ensign Mia Freeman, from Manassas, Virginia, assigned to the San Antonio- Class amphibious transport dock USS San Antonio (LPD 17) on basic videography and photography requirements for operational visual information documentation during a training held aboard the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Iwo Jima (LHD 7). ATG is responsible for executing basic-phase training of ships in the Atlantic fleet in areas including combat systems, engineering, supply, administration, damage control, aviation, seamanship, medical, navigation. Currently in its basic phase, Iwo Jima is the flagship of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group, a force uniquely positioned to deter aggression; project power through presence abroad; and execute contingency missions with its integrated Marine Corps team in support of U.S. strategic interests.
