U.S. Marines with Golf Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment board an MV-22 Osprey aircraft during embarking and disembarking drills as a part of a 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit field training exercise, Marine Corps Air Station New River, North Carolina Jan. 18, 2025. The 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit conducted a Marine Air-Ground Task Force interoperability exercise with elements of 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment as the ground combat element, Combat Logistics Battalion 22, Combat Logistics Regiment 27 as the logistics combat element, and Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 261 (VMM-261) as the air combat element; this exercise served as the first training event for the 26th MEU to rehearse and refine tactics, techniques, and procedures as the command element of a MAGTF in preparation for a wide array of potential future missions.
