U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Allen Peters, a fixed-wing aircraft mechanic with Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 312, Marine Aircraft Group 12, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, salutes after sending off an F/A-1D Hornet aircraft at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, during exercise Cope North 25, Feb. 7, 2025. VMFA-312 is temporarily augmenting MAG-12, 1st MAW under the Unit Deployment Program, which aims to provide squadrons stationed in the continental United States with experience training in the Indo-Pacific. Japanese, Australian, and U.S. Air Forces trained together during CN25 to streamline combined tactics and, if needed, win in an armed conflict. Peters is a native of Ohio.
