U.S. Africa Command’s Africa Forum brought together African Military Chaplains from across the continent to discuss important topics ranging from spirituality and how to better help the “whole” service member. As part of the forum, there was a panel that included U.S. Army Chaplain COL Karen Meeker, Zambian Chaplain General Ministry of Defence Henry Matifeyo, State Department representative, mental health expert from New York City Police Department, and U.S. Army NY National Guard Chaplain Douglas Brock.
The International Military Chiefs of Chaplains Conference (IMCCC) began in 1990 to unite senior military chaplains in supporting those affected by combat; today, it strengthens international relations, enhances spiritual care, advises commanders on religion in theater, and promotes religious freedom—now including dozens of countries, with IMCCC 2025 hosting 200 participants from 43 nation
