On January 28, 2025, nearly 200 military chaplains and religious leaders from around the world convened at the Belgian Senate in Brussels for the 36th annual International Military Chiefs of Chaplains Conference. Discussions focused on Europe’s role in a stable world order, managing religious and philosophical convictions, and the importance of inter-worldview dialogue.
The International Military Chiefs of Chaplains Conference (IMCCC) began in 1990 to unite senior military chaplains in supporting those affected by combat; today, it strengthens international relations, enhances spiritual care, advises commanders on religion in theater, and promotes religious freedom—now including dozens of countries, with IMCCC 2025 hosting 200 participants from 43 nations.
