NEWPORT, R.I.— U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy A. George answers a question from a student at the U.S. Naval War College (NWC) after receiving the college’s Distinguished Graduate Leadership Award (DGLA) onboard Naval Station Newport, Feb. 13, 2025. The DGLA, first presented in 1996, recognizes the accomplishments of alumni who have used their NWC education as a springboard to positions of senior leadership and prominence in the field of national security. Established in 1884, NWC informs today’s decision-makers and educates tomorrow’s leaders by providing educational experiences and learning opportunities that develop their ability to anticipate and prepare strategically for the future, strengthen the foundations of peace, and create a decisive warfighting advantage.
