Students from the Aliamanu Middle School dig and fill buckets for a simulated recovery mission during their visit to the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency facilities on Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii, Feb. 13, 2025. The agency participated in its third Student Summit Career Day to engage with the local community and educate students on identification and recovery operations. Forensic anthropologists, underwater and terrestrial archaeologists and isotope preparation scientists led students through simulated hands-on techniques and briefs to share more about how the agency conducts recovery missions.
