U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Adam Allmer, a fire support officer with Fox Company, 2nd Battalion, 23rd Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, uses a range finder to observe enemy positions during a company urban assault as part of an adversary force exercise at Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California, Feb. 4, 2025. AFX is the primary readiness-building event prior to the battalion's upcoming deployment to Okinawa, Japan, as part of the Marine Corps’ Unit Deployment Program. The exercise served as an opportunity to receive training across all warfighting functions in a realistic and fully resourced environment. Allmer is a native of North Dakota.
