Murph, a therapy dog with the American Red Cross, was honored in a retirement ceremony at Naval Hospital Beaufort, S.C., Feb. 26, 2025. Murph has been an icon throughout the Tri-Command area, not only serving the patients and staff of Naval Hospital Beaufort, but also the Marines and Sailors aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, S.C. As part of the ceremony, Cpl. Opha Mae II, the depot mascot, was invited to attend the ceremony, wishing Murph fair winds and following seas in his retirement. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl.
