A U.S. Army Soldier assigned to the 10th Mountain Division, Task Force Armadillo, performs 30 dead-stop push-ups after completing a one-mile run as part of the Expert Physical Fitness Assessment (EPFA) at Al Tanf Garrison, Syria, Feb. 12, 2025. The EPFA is a combat-focused physical assessment conducted in the Army Combat Uniform, boots, body armor, and helmet, consisting of several exercises that test the strength, endurance, and speed required for military operations. These assessments also allow Coalition members to be effective force multipliers by mentoring and developing partner force capabilities to defeat ISIS and maintain regional security and stability.
