The Commander of 36th Infantry Division, Major General John B. Bowlin presents a challenge coin to representatives of Texas' newest state partners from Egypt during the Best Warrior Competition at Camp Swift, near Bastrop, Texas, February 26, 2025. The Egyptian state partners came to observe the Best Warrior Competition. The grueling four-day event features some of Texas' top service members from the Army and Air National Guard with competitors from Texas Military Department's State Partnership Program nations, the Republic of Chile and The Czech Republic. The competition challenges the warriors in their military knowledge, survival and navigational skills, physical endurance and mental fortitude. The top noncommissioned officer and Soldier will go on to compete in the regional Best Warrior Competition in Oklahoma in the hopes to make it to nationals later this year.
