Master-at-Arms Seaman Victor Tirado, Master-at-Arms 1st Class Shawntall Palmer and Master-at-Arms 3rd Class Jace Graves, assigned to Naval Security Forces, U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, practice multiple-provider cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) during an American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Course taught at U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay, Mar. 3, 2025. The team performed two cycles of CPR then switched roles with a focus on minimizing interruptions in chest compressions to less than 10 seconds. The BLS course is part of the hospital’s community outreach efforts, empowering service members with the skills to respond effectively in emergencies that may require cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) or use of an automated external defibrillator (AED).
