Padilla was awarded the Civilian Achievement Award for his actions during a fentanyl overdose call in Indian Springs, Nevada, Aug. 20, 2024. He acted as the scene safety and incident commander and ensured that the patient and his firefighters were safe. He also coordinated getting ground transportation for the patient to be transported to a hospital in Las Vegas resulting in the patient’s life being saved.
