While engaged in a vehicle patrol along Route Mobile in western Al Anbar province, Iraq, Sgt. Justin O. Smallwood, 23, a scout squad leader from Great Falls, Va., with Team Mustang, 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, Regimental Combat Team 5, scans the roadway for any suspicious activity May 10. Team Mustang will maintain security of the highway with the Iraqi highway patrol to ensure insurgents don't harm the citizens of the area until the day they hand over all responsibility to the Iraqi security forces.
