The 24th annual Bataan Memorial Death March at White Sands Missile Range, N.M., commemorates the service of World War II era American veterans with a half-marathon and full marathon, March 17, 2013. The high desert terrain presents a challenge to people from all across the country. The University of Texas at El Paso Reserves Officer Training Corps Cadet Marie A. St. Clair of Arpin, Wis., (front left) runs the full marathon with cadet teamates trailing behind her. The team finished with a run time of 5 hours and 19 minutes. All five members must remain within 100 feet of each other at all times during the race, and cross the finish line together.
