Natural Resource Specialists Fisher Lund and Allen Zylstra from Big Hill Lake Office cover the proposed burn plan prior to beginning a prescribed burn during training March 6, 2025. Lund and Zylstra participated in the training as advanced students working to fulfill requirements to become burn bosses for Tulsa District. To qualify as a burn boss participants are assigned a section of land in the wildlife management area, where they must successfully create a burn plan, coordinate with other burn bosses, and ensure they carry out their burn plans correctly and safely.
