LANGLEY AIR FORCE BASE, Va. – The John Mitchell Trophy sits in front of the designated parking spot for the winner of the Mitchell Trophy Air Race at Langley Air Force Base, Virginia, Mar. 7, 2025. The trophy has not been presented for the race since 1936. The race was held with direct support from mission partners at the 127th Wing at Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan, which is where the race began in 1922. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech.
